How do I unlock my IronKey S100, S200, D200, S250, D250, S1000, H300, H350 device if the instructions in the User Guide do not work?

On Windows based computers:

  • Try right clicking on the IronKey.exe file and selecting Run As Administrator.
  • Try disabling the computer security software, or confirm all white-listing is in place for the security software in use: link to KB AA-02495.
  • Try a different USB port.
  • Try after a fresh reboot.
  • Make sure you are using a native Windows OS and not a thin client like VMware or a virtual OS like Parallels.
  • Make sure you are a local user and not trying to use a Remote Desktop application.

On Mac based computers:

  • Try a different USB port.
  • Try after a fresh reboot.
  • Try with and without the Mac Auto-Launch Assistant.
  • Try with the security software temporarily disabled.

On Linux based computers:

  • Enterprise models must have their policies set with Silver Bullets disabled. Link to KB AA-02410.
  • You may use the 'dmesg' command to view the mount points for the volumes (e.g.: output from 'dmesg' might show the IronKey CD Volume mount point is 'sr1').
  • You may need to create folders for both IronKey CD and Secure Files volumes (e.g.: 'mkdir /mnt/IronKeyCD' and 'mkdir /mnt/IronKeyFiles').
