If you need to change the drive letter for your IronKey in Windows XP, perhaps because of a drive mapping conflict with another device or network drive, do the following:

  1. Click the "Start" button and right-click on "My Computer".
  2. Select "Manage" in the pop-up menu that appears.
  3. Click on "Disk Management" in the left sidebar list.
  4. Right-click on the drive you wish to change and select "Change Drive Letter and Paths..." in the pop-up menu that appears.
  5. Click "Change" and choose a different letter that is not already in use. We recommend a letter high in the alphabet (closer to A than to Z).
  6. Click "OK" and then click "OK" again.
