**** Please be aware that Secure Sessions has been discontinued and no longer in service****

When using Secure Sessions, one of these messages might appear: "The connection was reset. The connection to the server was reset while the page was loading" or "Proxy Server Refused Connection". Your computer is likely having a problem resolving localhost to the IP address of To resolve this issue, do the following:

  1. Click the Start button on your Windows taskbar, and then open "Run".
  2. Type in "cmd", and click "OK".
  3. In the window that appears, type "ping localhost", and press "Enter".
  4. If the response is "Reply from ::1: time<1ms" then double click on "My computer" and go to C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc directory.
  5. Edit the "hosts" file using a text editor such as Notepad.
  6. Look for a line with "::1             localhost".
  7. Add a "#" in front of this line.
  8. If you do not have a line with "       localhost" add one.
  9. Now ping localhost as in step 4 and the reply should be something like "Reply from bytes=32 time<1ms TTL=128".
  10. Secure Sessions should now be working.
